End of January already?

Happy 2014! It’s been a busy January at Ravenhurst Bed and Breakfast. Despite the damp weather we've had a lovely selection of B&B guests in Cheltenham to do all sorts of different things. The highlight was undoubtedly the Festival Trials Day at Cheltenham Racecourse where a number of our B&B guests skillfully picked more than their fair share of winners! Hopefully that bodes well for the Cheltenham Festival 11th-14th March where we still have some availability on the Monday and Friday nights.

February is also shaping up well and we have a number of events in town for prospective B&B guests to enjoy:

Feb 2nd - David Baddiel plays the Everyman Theatre

Feb 10th - Blues Brothers Reloaded play the Everyman Theatre again, for one night only!

Feb 14th - Valentine's Day - why not come and stay with us at Ravenhurst B&B and book into one of Cheltenham's romantic restaurants!

Feb 14th - 16th - Cheltenham Folk Festival

Feb 15th - Apr 6th - Live Lambing at the Cotswold Farm Park

Feb 19th - Howlers at the Hall. Comedy night at Cheltenham Town Hall

Give us a call (01242 460534) or look at our website to check our Ravenhurst B&B availability!

See you soon!

Alex & Andy

Christmas well and truly here!

Hello All ! Christmas has well and truly arrived at Ravenhurst! The tree is up, the staircase is lit (a bit like a christmas tree!) and Alex has worked her magic with the door wreath. Merry Christmas !

Our Launch Party

We had a great Launch party for local Cheltenham businesses at Ravenhurst the other week – its been half term since and I haven’t been able to put a pen to paper (or an under-manicured hand to keyboard) for a while.

Andy and I were lucky to have the help of Kelly James and Rachel Collis from, the interior designers who steered us with the distinctive style and decoration of the rooms, as well as sourcing our beautiful silk curtains and stripey carpet.

We served guests canapés from COOK on the Bath Road ( – the Goats Cheese Tarts were a particular favourite), we handed them a drink and led them up the floating staircase on a tour of the rooms.   We had a good turnout of well connected guests, with representatives from the Racecourse, Gloucester Rugby Club, Cheltenham Festivals and many other businesses who I am hoping will all go back and enthuse about the newest, stylish B&B in town.  Shelle even booked herself in for a nights’ stay a couple of weeks afterwards.  Guests were able to take away a gift bag including contributions from Beards jewellers and Cheltenham Racecourse not forgetting the Ravenhurst home-grown chutney and sample of the Orla Kiely toiletries which we give to B&B guests when they stay.

It was really good to meet some of our Twitter friends and JP (@jpfestival) were also present on the drinks mats! Particular mention goes to Sali from who used to live on the top floor in a flat as a child. Thanks everyone for all the compliments on Twitter afterwards – it was like having a virtual pat on the back!  Unfortunately we forgot about taking photos until near the end, but these are a few of the better ones!
